Spinning and Weaving Supplies

I am both a Louet and a Schacht dealer of spinning wheels, books, and fine Merino rovings and Gaywool dyes. Below is a taste of what I have. Please e-mail me if you are interested in any of these items or any other item for that matter.

S45:

Our newest addition to the Louët family .The Louet design team has been busy designing this modern, versatile wheel. Small, compact, our S45 is similar in size to the S40 and can spin both bulky fibers and very fine fibers. The new S45 will be a unique, easily recognized Louët wheel. Our early observations are that it is sturdy, very portable and has a wide range of ratios: 7:1, 12:1, and 20:1

S51DT:

The recent popularity of double treadle wheels combined with Louëts durable design and leading edge technology lead us to the S51 DT. It treadles smoothly in a similar bicycle fashion as the S77. (Each foot travels in the opposite direction) Accessories available for the S51-DT include: skeinwinder, distaff, a four bobbin lazy kate, high speed bobbin, fatcore bobbin, flyers, and various spare parts.

S75:

The S75 has been discontinued and replaced with a double treadle version. The S75 DT comes in unfinished wood.Accessories available for the S75  include: skeinwinder, distaff, a four bobbin lazy kate, high speed bobbin, fatcore bobbin, flyers, and various spare parts.

Dyeing with Gaywool Dyes

This dye is formulated specifically for raw or spun wool. The formulation includes the mordant and dyebath acidifier and thus includes all that is necessary to produce true to type color fast dyeing. These dyes are perfect for home use. The colors blend together to produce additional colors for exceptional rainbow roving. These dyes are safe for children to use with adult supervision.

The Mighty Wolf

We built the Mighty Wolf in response to requests from weavers who liked the Baby Wolf and wanted the same loom but wider. The Mighty Wolf has a weaving width of 36", and uses the same X-frame design as the Baby Wolf.  The Mighty Wolf comes with a high castle that includes a handy storage tray.

Baby Wolf

If compactness and portability are what you are looking for, you’ll be interested in this thoughtfully engineered loom. The weaving width of the Baby Wolf is 26". You have your choice of four or eight shafts, or you can choose our Four Now-Four Later model which allows you to expand from four shafts to eight shafts at any time. The X-frame design is exceptionally stable and can be easily folded to a depth of 18". The Baby Wolf employs a friction brake on the warp beam which lets you advance the warp smoothly.

Standard Floor Looms

Our Standard floor loom comes in two styles:  The Standard Low Castle and The Standard High Castle.  Though both looms take up identical floor space, the lower profile of the Low Castle model appears visually smaller.   A High Castle loom includes a storage tray and holes drilled in the top of the castle uprights for the swivel pin of an extension lamp, otherwise the looms function the same.  Both the Standard Low Castle and the Standard High Castle looms are available in 36" and 46" wide weaving widths.

Loom Bench with optional bags

Our loom bench is a beautiful companion piece to our Wolf looms and Standard floor looms.  The bench seat height is adjustable from 19" to 24" and has been designed to offer you both a flat and a slanted seat position.  The bench is free of side posts, which allows you to move around unrestricted.  Below the seat is a storage bin for holding your accessories.  The loom bench is available in cherry and maple.

Our optional bench bags can be purchased with the bench or added later.  The bags are made of durable Cordura cloth and can be mounted on either or both sides of the bench seat.  They are available with cherry or maple end bars.

Schacht Matchless Spinning Wheels

are the most responsive spinning wheel available today.  Whether you choose single treadle or double treadle action, you'll appreciate our wheels' matchless capabilities. The Schacht Spinning Wheel offers double drive, Scotch tension, and bobbin lead modes of operation.  Wheels come with two flyer whorls; five other flyer whorls offer spinning ratios from 4:1 to 27.5:1.

The 19 1/2" drive wheel and flyer shaft are supported by self-aligning bronze bearings for precise action.  Each flyer is individually balanced and the bobbins and flyer whorls are trued on center for long and superior service.
Also included with each Schacht Spinning Wheel are: its own adjustable carrying strap, two drive bands, a threading hook, a lazy Kate, and four bobbins.
